Mermaid’s Ruin reimagines the story of a mermaid we all know by heart. Expecting a blissful world of beautiful birds and sunshine, the little mermaid’s dreams are crushed when she sees that the land of humans is simply not what she had pictured it to be… all that surrounds her is trash and dismal.
Sitting in a broken boat, the mermaid wraps herself in the remains of its sailcloth and a telephone cord, saddened by the state of the land which she imagined to be paradise.
Having lived her entire life near the ocean floor, isolated from the rest of the world beyond her watery home, a young mermaid dreamed about the blissful land of humans. Day after day, she patiently waited for the day when she would finally turn 15, for that is the day that she would take her turn to make her first visit to the ocean’s surface. Expecting warm sunshine, scenic islands, beautiful clothes and other wonders that she couldn’t even start to imagine, the little mermaid counted down to her 15th birthday with intense longing…
After what felt like aeons, the day finally arrived. The little mermaid stayed up all night as she simply could not sleep with all that eagerness swelling up in her heart. She tossed and turned in her bed thinking a thousand questions… “What beautiful birds will I see?” “How bright is the sun?” “Will I meet Prince Charming?” “Will the humans be dancing and walking on those – what do you call them again – feet?”
At daybreak, the mermaid put on a magical mask given by her father, which would temporarily allow her to breathe on land. She checked her beautiful red hair to make sure that she looked absolutely perfect for her big day, and waved goodbye to her aquatic friends and family. Hardly able to contain her excitement, she swiftly made her way to the surface, when suddenly, a sense of foreboding struck her…
An ominous shadow loomed above. The water was murky and dark. Weak rays of sunlight fought its way through strange silhouettes of floating objects that she had never seen before.
The mermaid rose to the surface with dwindling hopes for the paradise that she had expected to see, but nothing could prepare her for the awry sight. Black bags of trash were scattered all around, lifelessly bobbing. Barrels of foul-smelling substances gurgled with the movement of the waves. Cartons, containers, crushed vessels – all strewn across the surface of the ocean like a dystopic ruin.
Disappointment hit the young mermaid like a tidal wave, as a 15-year long dream of the world beyond the sea was crushed in an instant. The mortified mermaid desperately looked around and found a small stretch of rocky land, with a tiny boat that was washed ashore. She swam towards it, in hopes of finding some remnants of a forgotten adventure. She climbed on and propped herself up on the broken boat, which was surrounded by more trash, more filth, and more dismal.
The mermaid searched around, unsure what she might find. She found a coil of telephone cord and wrapped it around her neck, thinking that it was some sort of accessory. She picked up a tattered sail cloth and wrapped it around herself, as if in a last ditch attempt to fight the cold that is stabbing at her heart. “Did this boat belong to my Prince Charming?” She couldn’t help but make up fantasies to ease the pain that she felt…
Her mind alternated between moments of deep thoughts and moments of emptiness, as she sat amidst the wreckage. Unaware of the dark tentacles of evil that were creeping close behind her, the mermaid resigned to her fate, as her hopes and dreams dissolved into soulless sea foam…
“Mermaid’s Ruin” is a 9.3” tall polystone art collectible designed by LA-based street artist ABCNT, will be dropping in a 24-hour time-limited release *Part of the profits from Mermaid’s Ruin by ABCNT will be donated to Oceana, a nonprofit ocean conservation organization focused on preserving and restoring the world’s oceans.

Matt Bailey x Mighty Jaxx presented the world with “Keep Me In Your Heart”. Its time to sell your soul once again as they present to you the Spectre edition of “Keep Me In Your Heart”.
Dead in the day, alive by night, only she has the power to wake him up. She calls out longingly to him once again, always unfazed by the drastic change in his appearance upon each return. She takes her place and joins him, taking a puff and reminiscing all the good things and the good things only.

One of his famous characters the Fat Tiger has transitioned from many merchandises to resin figures and earlier on in the year the 52Toys an all-new mini series! 不二馬大叔 Bu2ma distinctive and always copied style sees a playful Fat Tiger come together with expressions and poses that we can relate to. Now teaming up with Mighty Jaxx to present to you “It’s Lonely At The Top” for this resin art collectable.
“It’s Lonely At The Top” is based on an illustration that Beijing artist Bu2ma created in 2020, with an addition of a little tiger for company; It’s not nice to be too lonely, is it? Fat tiger Alexander climbed the mountain with excitement but found that he had trouble heading back down, so he stretched and put on a poker face to cover up his embarrassment.
Bu2ma broke the internet with his oriental-style cute animal illustrations (especially cats). His comics of Alexander the rotund tiger and the little tiger are also widely loved and shared on the internet. Crafted out of premium polystone, Inked Stories: Eve featuring JPK is decorated in a traditional tattoo art style including apple blossom flowers, fig-trees, and maple leaves, relevant to the various stories from the Garden of Eden.
In the middle of a garden stands a tree bearing the juiciest fruit in all of the world. A serpent slithers towards a woman, wrapping around her and whispering of deceit. She saw that the fruit was good to eat and pleasing to look at, so she took some of the fruit and ate it.
The Fall of Man gets a figurative retelling in this collaborative piece by JPK and Mighty Jaxx. Taking a two-prong approach in the reimagining, Mighty Jaxx designed and sculpted the Eve figure with the forbidden fruit in hand. JPK works his magic, referencing her story through a series of full-body tattoos; the birth of man, the breath of life, the sculpting from the rib, the temptation of the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Decorated in a traditional tattoo style including apple blossom flowers, fig trees, and maple leaves, relevant to the various stories from Eden.

There will be a dedicated area of DesignerCon London where each artist will have a 6x2ft table to sell your artwork, as well as featuring your artwork in a rotating glass display unit! You will also receive social media posts on Instagram & Facebook via the DesignerCon platforms. Included are two staff passes to DesignerCon London as well as 4 complimentary passes for your friends & family too!
It is priced at £240 (£200+VAT). We think this a great opportunity for artists that are not quite at the stage of getting a full booth but want to showcase their work at DesignerCon London at a discounted price.

There are currently TWO levels of tickets available for purchase for DesignerCon London. Please note: In the event of any cancellation all ticket with be refundable or transferable to new dates. Tickets are 100% refundable until August 6, 2021 for any reason. This is great addition, as it gives assurances to ticket holders that DCon are taking matters of COVID seriously. We are in a crazy world right now, there is no denying that, but hopefully as the UK re-opens we can look forward to events like DesignerCon London.
